Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz officially launched the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ scheme, a landmark initiative designed to provide affordable housing to the people of Punjab, as reported on Augu.

As per details, this scheme reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to quickly deliver quality homes to those in need. One of the most significant features of the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ scheme is the provision of a PKR. 15 lac interest-free loan. This loan is aimed at enabling the purchase of 5 marla plots in urban areas and 10 marla plots in rural regions. Additionally, the scheme offers a three-month grace period, during which no payments are required, easing the financial burden on applicants.

Chief Minister Nawaz also highlighted the affordability of the scheme, revealing that the monthly instalment will be set at an accessible PKR. 14,000. Moreover, she announced Pakistan’s largest solar program, scheduled to launch next year, which is expected to significantly reduce, and potentially eliminate, electricity bills for residents.

The ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ scheme will be implemented in all major cities across Punjab. The houses built under this scheme will feature two bedrooms, a TV lounge, a bathroom, and a well-sized kitchen, ensuring comfortable living for all.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the online portal (acag.punjab.gov.pk), where citizens can apply online for the program. Citizens can call 0800-09100 to seek information about it.
